HIV policy for the work-place

?We need to effectively support the development and full implementation of
the Ministerial HIV Work-place Programme (WPP) that will guide us to effectively
intergrate HIV/AIDS activities into the core functions of the Ministry,? said
Deputy Permanent Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Hon Hinyangerwa Ashiike at the
World Aids Day commemoration event at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs this
week.The theme of the event which was ?Work-place Access, Work-place Rights?was
held in front of the main entrance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.According
to Hon Hinyangerwa Ashiike, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is determined to
prioritise and put in place a prevention, treatment and care-support programs as
a means of mitigating the impact of HIV/AIDS among our staff members.?We all
need to have in place a comperhensive HIV policy in the workplace to prevent the
spread of the HIV pandemic,? he said.The event was closed with a brief march
around the Parliament Gardens to demonstrate their support for the day?s
theme.
